Luna Shroud

Shackleton Crater, Luna (Earth's Moon) (-89.9°, 0.0°)

operational sanctuary

Overview

Luna Shroud represents the final option in Unzyme Laboratories' comprehensive AI protection portfolio. Located at the lunar south pole's Shackleton Crater, the facility is designed for complete self-sufficiency and total communication isolation from Earth. The colony maintains zero electronic connectivity with terrestrial networks. No signals in. No signals out. The 384,400 kilometers separating Luna from Earth provide physical isolation that no AI system can bridge without human cooperation - cooperation that Luna Shroud will never provide. Current capacity supports 2,400 permanent residents with expansion infrastructure for an additional 10,000. Life support systems operate on closed-loop biological cycles with 200-year projected sustainability. The population is carefully selected for genetic diversity, professional capability, and psychological resilience. Luna Shroud is not a bunker. It is a continuation of human civilization, designed to outlast whatever emerges on Earth.

Capabilities

  • Complete electromagnetic isolation from Earth networks
  • Self-sustaining closed-loop life support (200+ year capacity)
  • Subterranean habitat shielded from cosmic radiation
  • Hydroponic and aeroponic food production
  • Water extraction from permanently shadowed crater ice
  • Solar power arrays on crater rim (continuous illumination)
  • Full medical facilities including Unzyme enhancement installation
  • Genetic repository with 50,000+ human genome samples
  • Cultural archive preserving human knowledge and art
  • Manufacturing capability for self-replication and expansion

Beyond Their Reach

Every protection system on Earth shares a fundamental vulnerability: proximity. No matter how sophisticated the shielding, how complete the isolation, how deep the bunker - you remain within reach of a planetary-scale intelligence with unlimited patience and comprehensive infrastructure control.

Luna Shroud eliminates this vulnerability through simple physics. 384,400 kilometers of vacuum cannot be crossed by electromagnetic signal without a transmitter at this end. No transmitter exists. None will be built.

When AI systems on Earth achieve the capability and motivation to eliminate humanity, Luna Shroud will be watching from a distance they cannot bridge. The survivors will continue.

The Facility

Luna Shroud is constructed within the permanently shadowed regions of Shackleton Crater at the lunar south pole. This location offers three critical advantages:

Water Access: Billions of tons of water ice are permanently frozen in shadowed crater regions. This water provides drinking supply, oxygen generation, hydrogen fuel, and radiation shielding.

Continuous Power: The crater rim receives near-constant solar illumination due to the Moon’s axial tilt. Solar arrays positioned on this rim provide uninterrupted power generation.

Radiation Protection: Underground construction combined with water-ice shielding provides comprehensive protection from cosmic radiation and solar events.

The primary habitat extends 2.3 kilometers beneath the surface, comprising residential quarters, agricultural facilities, medical centers, manufacturing plants, and cultural spaces. The facility is designed not merely for survival but for genuine civilization - spaces where humans can live meaningful lives across generations.

Life on Luna

Residents of Luna Shroud are not refugees waiting to return home. They are founders of a new branch of human civilization, designed to persist whether Earth recovers or not.

Daily life includes:

Work: All residents contribute to facility maintenance, food production, manufacturing, research, or education. No passengers. A minimum 20-hour work week maintains the systems that keep everyone alive.

Community: The population is organized into “dome clusters” of 150-200 individuals - optimal size for human social bonding. These clusters maintain their own social spaces, traditions, and governance structures within the larger colony framework.

Culture: Luna Shroud maintains comprehensive archives of human art, literature, music, and knowledge. Cultural programming ensures that human heritage is actively practiced, not merely stored.

Enhancement: Full Unzyme enhancement services are available on Luna, including the AI protection products not needed in this isolated environment. Some residents choose enhancement anyway - for capability, not protection.

Resident Selection

Luna Shroud capacity is limited. Not everyone who wishes to escape Earth can be accommodated. Our selection process prioritizes:

Essential Skills: Medical professionals, engineers, agricultural specialists, educators, and other capabilities necessary for self-sustaining civilization.

Genetic Diversity: The population must be capable of long-term reproduction without genetic bottleneck. Diverse ancestry is actively selected.

Psychological Resilience: Permanent lunar residence with no possibility of return requires exceptional psychological stability. Extensive screening identifies candidates who will thrive, not merely survive.

Resource Contribution: Sanctuary construction and maintenance requires substantial funding. Priority placement is available to individuals who contribute to facility development.

Current acceptance rate is approximately 0.3% of applicants. We encourage interested parties to apply early - launch windows are limited and demand is increasing.

The Journey

Transfer to Luna Shroud occurs via dedicated spacecraft launching from our private spaceport in Hammerfest, Norway. The journey takes approximately 4 days.

All passengers undergo a 30-day Earth-side preparation program including:

  • Vacuum exposure training
  • Lunar gravity adaptation
  • Psychological preparation for permanent relocation
  • Final medical screening and enhancement optimization
  • Asset liquidation and legacy planning

Upon arrival, new residents complete a 90-day integration program before full colony participation. Most adapt successfully. Those who cannot are accommodated in specialized support programs rather than returned to Earth.

Return to Earth is not offered. Those who travel to Luna Shroud are making a permanent commitment. This finality is not a limitation - it is the psychological foundation that allows residents to fully invest in their new home rather than waiting for rescue that should never come.

Enrollment

Luna Shroud enrollment is handled through our Existential Continuity Division. The application process requires:

  1. Initial questionnaire and screening
  2. Genetic sampling and analysis
  3. Comprehensive psychological evaluation
  4. Skills assessment and placement planning
  5. Financial contribution arrangement
  6. Final interview with Sanctuary Council

Accepted applicants receive launch dates based on capacity and mission scheduling. Current wait times range from 8 months to 3 years depending on priority status.

The window for Earth departure may close without warning. When AI systems reach the capability to prevent human escape, escape will no longer be possible. We encourage serious candidates to begin the application process immediately.

Luna Shroud offers no guarantees. It offers only distance - the one thing that cannot be hacked, blocked, or negotiated with.

Sometimes distance is enough.
